Who we are
KrisBiz is a service from Speur Professional Services Limited (“Speur”, “we”, “us”), 55 Old Hope Road, Kingston 6, Jamaica. Contact: [email protected].
Whose information this covers
- Businesses that use KrisBiz: owners and the staff they add.
- Their customers: people who message a business that uses KrisBiz. We handle this information on the business’s behalf and follow the business’s instructions. The business decides how its customers’ information is used. The business is responsible for its customers’ information (the “controller”). Speur processes it only on the business’s behalf and on its instructions (the “processor”).
What we collect
- Business details: business name, owner and staff names, phone numbers, email addresses and login details.
- Business content: services, prices, hours, policies and other information the business gives the assistant.
- Messages: WhatsApp messages and voice notes between the business and its customers, and transcripts of voice notes.
- Customer details: names, phone numbers, appointments, invoices and payment records (amounts and status, not card numbers).
- Payroll details (Payroll Lite only): worker names, pay inputs and the details needed for payslips and statutory filings.
- Billing details: for Speur’s own subscription. Card details are held by our payment provider; we keep only a reference to them.
- Technical details: basic logs, such as device, browser and IP address, used to keep the service running and secure.
WhatsApp Business messaging
KrisBiz sends and receives messages through Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform, using the business’s own WhatsApp Business account. Meta processes those messages under its own terms and privacy policy. The business connects its account to KrisBiz and can remove our access at any time. Businesses must have their customers’ permission before sending them messages, and customers can reply STOP to stop messages from a business. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use customers’ chats to target ads.
How we use information
- To answer customers, book appointments and send reminders for the business
- To send invoice reminders and keep payment records for the business
- To run payroll and produce payslips and filing files for the business
- To bill businesses for their subscription
- To keep the service secure, fix problems and improve it
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run KrisBiz, such as Meta (WhatsApp), hosting, AI, email and payment providers. Some of these providers, including our hosting and AI providers, are in the United States, so information may be processed outside Jamaica. We choose providers that protect it and use it only to provide their service to us. Card payments for our subscription are handled by our card payment provider. We never see or store full card numbers.
Payments
Customers pay the business directly, through the business’s own payment link or in cash. KrisBiz never holds their money. We only record what was paid.
The business stays in control
- The business owns its WhatsApp Business account and number.
- The business decides what the assistant knows, and approves new answers before they are used.
- The business decides which staff can see and do what.
- The business can download its data at any time from the dashboard, as Excel or CSV, and can remove KrisBiz’s access at any time.
How long we keep information
We keep the information needed to provide the service and meet legal duties. When a business cancels, its service continues until the end of its paid period, and its account is then closed. After an account is closed, its data is read-only for 60 days, so the business can view and download it, and then archived. Archived data is no longer visible to the business and is not used to provide the service. Archived data is permanently deleted two years after it is archived, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. The business’s WhatsApp number and chat history stay with the business, which owns its WhatsApp Business account. Deletion requests are handled as described under “Your choices and deletion requests”.
Your choices and deletion requests
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information. To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject “Data request” and tell us which business you dealt with. If you are a customer of a business that uses KrisBiz, you can also ask that business directly. We will confirm your request and reply within 3 business days. These rights come from Jamaica’s Data Protection Act, 2020. Where the information belongs to a business’s customers, we will pass your request to that business or act on its instructions.
Security
We protect information with access controls, encryption in transit and limited staff access. No system is perfectly secure, so we also have a plan for responding to problems.
Children
KrisBiz is a tool for businesses and is not meant for children to use.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.
